What is Encounter?

Encounter is the essential core around which Will Schutz developed his work. In fact, he referred to The Human Element as “a structured Encounter.”  In his words, Encounter is “understanding the self through encountering other people.”

It is a mode of human relating based on:

  • Openness
  • Awareness
  • Responsibility
  • An emphasis on the here and now

A wide variety of methods are used in Encounter, including some inspired by other approaches and many created spontaneously to meet specific situations. The methods are combined to deal with the whole person, rather than only limited aspects, ensuring deeper integration and impact.

Schedule

  • Wednesday June 26th : Arrival 15:00 – 17:00, Start of the program with dinner at 18:00, session from 20:00 to 22:00
  • June 27th – 29th: Session from 9:00 to 12:00, 15:00 to 18:00 and 20:00 to 22:00
  • Sunday June 30th: Session from 9:00 to 12:00, Lunch at 12:00. Departure after lunch.

We have organized an on-site stay. The fee for this encounter includes a single room for 4 nights, breakfast (4x), lunch (4x) and diner (4x) during the whole program.

On-site stay is the most practical and best way to go through the program. You will spend more time with your peers and build relationships further as you journey through this program together. We expect participants to be fully present and engaged during the sessions.

For this Encounter we will be staying at Kapellerput. This is a peacefull and inspirational estate located close to the town of Heeze in The Netherlands

Kapellerput is situated on a 25 hectare country estate in Heeze, near Eindhoven.

By Public transport

In Heeze is a railway station.

From Amsterdam Schiphol to Heeze Station 1h:40m / departs every half hour/ One stopover @Eindhoven.

Use a taxi, let us know if you want us to pick you up at this station, or use bus 266, direction Deurne and get off at the Kapellerput stop.

 

By car

Kapellerput is easily accessible by car via the A2 motorway (exit 34 Valkenswaard – Heeze) and the A67 (exit 34 Geldrop- Heeze). Kapellerput has 300 parking spaces and 10 charging stations for electric vehicles.
